Youth Baseball Clinic Successfully Concludes in Santo Domingo<\/h2>\n\nSanto Domingo \u2013 The Dominican Baseball Federation (FEDOM), along with the management of the Dominican team for the 2026 World Baseball Classic and Major League Baseball (MLB), concluded this Thursday in Santo Domingo the fourth and final children’s baseball clinic. The initiative, aimed at children between 8 and 10 years old, is part of an ambitious training and development plan.\n\nThe event, held at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium, brought together nearly 300 children from the National District and Santo Domingo province. The participants enjoyed an educational and recreational day, which combined technical teachings, motivation, and direct contact with figures from professional baseball.\n\n\n

\u201cWe are very happy to share with you and to have these baseball figures who help us sow values and dreams in our children,\u201d expressed Juan N\u00fa\u00f1ez, president of FEDOM.<\/p>\n\nJuan N\u00fa\u00f1ez, president of FEDOM<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nCristian Reyes, MLB director in the Dominican Republic, highlighted the importance of collective commitment for the development of grassroots baseball. “We thank both the children and the players for dedicating their time and effort. They will be the ones who represent our country in the future,” he pointed out.\n\nNelson Cruz, general manager of the Dominican team for the 2026 World Baseball Classic, encouraged the participants to enjoy the experience and set ambitious goals. “This space is for you. Hopefully, the next major leaguers will come out of here and, when they achieve it, they will return to support other children as is being done today,” he indicated.\n\nThe presence of Emilio Bonifacio, captain of the Tigres del Licey, generated great enthusiasm among the children. The veteran player urged them to value the opportunity and to take advantage of each lesson received during the clinic.\n\nThe Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, valued the social impact of the initiative and the union of efforts between institutions. “This alliance between FEDOM, MLB and the Classic management sends a positive message to the country. Children represent the present and the future of the Dominican Republic,” he said.\n\nGeneral Pascual Cruz M\u00e9ndez, director of the General Directorate of Traffic and Ground Transportation Safety (DIGESETT), also attended the activity, supporting the development of this type of training programs.\n\nThe instructors were the active players Camilo Doval, Mel Rojas Jr., Sergio Alc\u00e1ntara and Emilio Bonifacio, along with former players Ram\u00f3n Mart\u00ednez and Anderson Hern\u00e1ndez, who imparted fundamental baseball knowledge through rotating work stations.\n\nWith this day, a national tour was completed that included previous clinics in Ban\u00ed, San Pedro de Macor\u00eds and Santiago, managing to impact children from the 32 provinces of the country.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
