The celebration was attended by students from the Gregorio Luper\u00f3n School and the San Jos\u00e9 Parochial Educational Center.\n\nThe protocol ceremony took place in the Juan Ulises Garc\u00eda Saleta Hall of the COD. A floral offering was made at the bust of Juan Pablo Duarte, located on the front esplanade of the Olympic organization.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n\n<p>Engineer Garibaldy Bautista, president of the COD, interacted with the students and highlighted the importance of the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 for the country.<\/p>\n\n<cite>Garibaldy Bautista<\/cite>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nAdditionally, the president of the COD shared details about the history and role of the institution in organizing Dominican sports delegations in international events of the Olympic cycle.\n\nEngineer Pedro Julio Quezada, director of the Olympic Academy, highlighted the participation of the students and emphasized values as fundamental to maintain Duarte&#8217;s legacy.\n\nAs part of the program, the students of the San Jos\u00e9 Parochial Educational Center, led by the licensed \u00c1ngela Pujols and the teachers Ramona Pacheco and Eduardo Acosta, presented a dramatization entitled &#8220;Duarte Inmortal&#8221;.\n\nThe floral offering was enlivened by the Marching Band of the General Gregorio Luper\u00f3n School, under the direction of the physical education teacher Enemencio Rosario, along with two flag bearers from the educational center.\n\nThe floral offering was led by engineer Garibaldy Bautista, president of the COD, and escorted by engineer Pedro Julio Quezada and Pedro Almonte.\n\nJos\u00e9 Antonio Tejeda and Pedro Almonte, professors at the Olympic Academy, and Luis Morillo, a graduate of the Sports Administration courses, were also present at the event.\n\nThe students toured the different areas of the Olympic Committee, receiving explanations about the functioning of the different departments.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>COD Celebrates Duarte&#8217;s Birthday and Anniversary with Students Santo Domingo \u2013 The Dominican Olympic Committee (COD), through its Olympic Academy, commemorated the 213th anniversary of the birth of Juan Pablo Duarte and the 80th anniversary of the organization&#8217;s founding.
