This performance, which raised his ERA to 6.55, led to his demotion to the minor leagues.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n\n<p>&#8220;We need to get him to execute better. He needs a reset to get back in the strike zone. Utilizing all his pitches will lead to better results,&#8221; commented Tigers manager AJ Hinch.<\/p>\n\n<cite>AJ Hinch<\/cite>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nSo far this season, Brieske has given up 16 earned runs, 24 hits, and 12 walks in just 22 innings. The Tigers were hoping he would overcome this slump, but his performance against the Orioles was revealing.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n\n<p>&#8220;Last night was the end of the conversation, and now it&#8217;s time to do it. This has been building up over several outings, where the execution wasn&#8217;t good for him,&#8221; added Hinch.<\/p>\n\n<cite>AJ Hinch<\/cite>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nTo fill the bullpen spot, the Tigers called up left-handed pitcher Matt Gage from Toledo.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been really good. He\u2019s really earned his spot here.
