The double Olympic champion, F\u00e9lix S\u00e1nchez, led an unofficial athletics check-up with the participation of more than one hundred Dominican athletes. This event is part of the evaluation process in preparation for the Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026.<\/p>\n
The check-up was carried out on Saturday, January 17, 2026, in Bayaguana, Monte Plata province. It had the support of coach Jos\u00e9 Rubio and the participation of his athletes. Also present were Gustavo Cuesta, renowned athlete and now coach in San Pedro de Macor\u00eds, and Franklin Leyba, coach of Bayaguana.<\/p>\n
Among the outstanding athletes who participated are Olympic medalists Alexander Ogando and Lidio Feliz, both from the F\u00e9lix S\u00e1nchez Academy, along with Yancarlos Mart\u00ednez, Yeral N\u00fa\u00f1ez and Yohandris And\u00fajar. Also competing were Milagros Dur\u00e1n, Bianka Acosta, Robert King, Melbin Marcelino, Estrella De Aza, Patricia Sine and Liranyi Alonzo, champion of the Junior Pan American Games.<\/p>\n
The tests included 500 meters, 60 meters hurdles, 60 meters flat, 300 meters, 600 meters, 1,000 meters, and 150 meters, in both the men’s and women’s divisions.<\/p>\n
Athletes expressed their satisfaction with this initiative, which allowed them to evaluate themselves for the new season.<\/p>\n
F\u00e9lix S\u00e1nchez motivated the athletes and thanked the coaches for their collaboration. Currently, S\u00e1nchez works with a large group of athletes in athletics, focused on the Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026. These check-ups are established as a crucial tool for the development of Dominican athletics.<\/p>\n
