The move, which involved six players, was finalized on Sunday night, marking a milestone in the league in its third season.

This trade comes just ten days before the PWHL enters its month-long Olympic break, which adds a strategic element to the operation.

New Additions for Ottawa Charge

Among the new acquisitions for the Charge, Michela Cava stands out, arriving as a valuable offensive addition. Cava, who previously played for Vancouver, accumulated five points in 13 games, solidifying herself as a key player. Ottawa also incorporates Brooke McQuigge and Emma Greco, strengthening their ranks.

Offensive Reinforcements for Vancouver Goldeneyes

Vancouver, for its part, is reinforced with three forwards. Among them is Anna Shokhina, a prominent Russian player with Olympic experience. The Goldeneyes also add Mannon McMahon and Anna Meixner, the latter representing Austria at the international level.

Michela Cava is a proven winner. We know her game from last season’s PWHL Walter Cup Finals very well.
Mike Hirshfeld, Charge General Manager

Each of Ottawa’s new additions has a Walter Cup title with the Minnesota Frost team.

Cava is a two-time champion and McQuigge was a rookie on the Frost team that secured the title by defeating Ottawa in the fourth game of the finals in May. Greco won the cup with Minnesota in 2024 before playing for Boston last season.

The Charge, with a 3-6 record with four overtime/shootout wins, is tied for fifth place with Toronto in the eight-team standings. Ottawa had won six straight games, including four after regulation, before a 2-1 loss to Montreal on Tuesday.

Vancouver (3-7-2 with one overtime/shootout win) is in seventh place in the standings and averages a league-low 1.7 goals per game, and is seventh in allowing 2.6 goals against. The Goldeneyes have lost three straight games and have a 1-4-2 record in their last seven.

These players will have an impact on both ends of the court.
