Kostyuk Suffers Injury at the Australian Open<\/h2>\n\nUkrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk suffered a ligament injury in her left ankle during her first-round match at the Australian Open.\n\nElsa Jacquemot was the rival who eliminated Kostyuk, number 20 in the world, with a score of 6-7 (4), 7-6 (4), 7-6 (7), after saving a match point.\n\nKostyuk’s injury occurred at the end of the third set.\n\n\n

Marta Kostyuk’s Post<\/a><\/p>\n\n\nKostyuk confirmed the injury through her social media. In her post, the tennis player explained that she will not be able to participate in the doubles modality of the tournament alongside her partner, Elena-Gabriela Ruse.\n\n\n

The Australian Open has always been one of my favorite tournaments, so I didn’t imagine my participation would end like this. But that’s part of the sport.<\/p>Marta Kostyuk<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nKostyuk had started the year with a good performance, reaching the final of the Brisbane International, where she was runner-up against Aryna Sabalenka.\n\n\n
