The event, organized by the Puerto Plata International Sport Foundation, celebrated the fifth edition of its baseball clinic for children, highlighting the trajectory and constant support of these athletes to the community.\n\nThe foundation, led by engineer Chito Polo and Frank Alameda, presented recognition plaques to emblematic figures of baseball.\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Teoscar Hern\u00e1ndez, two-time World Series champion.<\/li>\n<li>Jos\u00e9 Mesa.<\/li>\n<li>Jean Segura.<\/li>\n<li>Al Reyes.<\/li>\n<li>\u00c1ngel Castro.<\/li>\n<li>D\u2019Angelo Jim\u00e9nez.<\/li>\n<li>Joel Peralta.<\/li>\n<li>Rub\u00e9n Sierra.<\/li>\n<li>Carlos Paulino.<\/li>\n<li>Edgar Santana.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\nThe activities of the 5th Humanitarian and Sports Clinics &#8220;Achieving Dreams&#8221; began on Friday the 16th with beach cleaning days and the delivery of community aid. In addition, a women&#8217;s softball game was held between the local team Sexy Girls and the New York Police Department women&#8217;s selection.\n\nNelson Cruz, general manager of the Dominican team for the 2026 World Baseball Classic, was recognized for his continued support of the foundation.\n\nThe event was attended by former major leaguers such as Bartolo Col\u00f3n, Carlos Mart\u00ednez and Jhonny Brito, as well as the recently signed Wandy Asigen, along with a group of prospects from Major League organizations in Puerto Plata.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;This is the fifth installment of an activity that has already become an annual tradition, where professional baseball players share their experiences and knowledge, inspiring many young people from Puerto Plata who dream of reaching professional baseball&#8221;<\/p><cite>Chito Polo<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nMore than 500 children from different baseball leagues in the province participated in specialized clinics and received sports equipment donated by the foundation. This has generated a positive impact on the community.\n\nDuring the day, a tribute was paid to former Major League pitcher Octavio Dotel, the driving force behind this initiative, who passed away in April 2025.
