The Dominican Baseball Federation (FEDOM), along with the management of the Dominican team for the upcoming World Baseball Classic, with the support of Major League Baseball (MLB), organized a baseball clinic as part of a comprehensive development program for young talents.\n\nThe event was attended by key figures such as Nelson Cruz, general manager of the Dominican team; Albert Pujols, manager of the Quisqueyan squad; and Juan N\u00fa\u00f1ez, president of FEDOM. The clinic was filled with enthusiasm, teachings, and emotional moments for the young participants.\n\nAmong the personalities present were former players such as George Bell and Edwin Encarnaci\u00f3n, along with active players such as Emilio Bonifacio, Bryant de la Cruz, Robinson Can\u00f3, Christopher S\u00e1nchez, Jarl\u00edn Garc\u00eda and Joely Rodr\u00edguez. In addition, Jos\u00e9 Can\u00f3, coach of the 2013 World Baseball Classic champion team, and Major League coaches Carlos Febles and H\u00e9ctor Borg participated.\n\nA highlight was when Fernando Tatis Jr. was mentioned, generating applause and admiration among the children, evidencing the impact of these idols on the new generations.\n\nDuring the clinic, the children participated in work stations where they learned baseball fundamentals, such as batting, fielding, pitching, and base running, receiving instructions from the players and former players. The day culminated in a lively home run derby.\n\n

Last week we impacted Ban\u00ed with the ten provinces of the South and today we are in San Pedro de Macor\u00eds impacting the six provinces of the East<\/p>Juan N\u00fa\u00f1ez, president of FEDOM<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\nJuan N\u00fa\u00f1ez thanked the massive participation of baseball figures and highlighted the scope of the program.\n\n

This is an event that seeks to give children tools so they can develop in baseball and in life in general. Playing baseball is important, but nothing like education.<\/p>Nelson Cruz<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\nNelson Cruz highlighted the importance of the event, which goes beyond the game, focusing on the integral development of children.\n\n

On behalf of the Major League Baseball office, we are very pleased with this activity and with the synergy we have created with the Dominican Baseball Federation<\/p>Henry Gonz\u00e1lez, MLB operations director<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\nHenry Gonz\u00e1lez, from MLB, valued the initiative as a source of pride for the country.\n\nThis clinic in San Pedro de Macor\u00eds was the second of four similar events to be held in different regions. The next appointment will be on Saturday 24th in Santiago, at the Micalo Berm\u00fadez stadium, and on Thursday 29th in Santo Domingo, at the Quisqueya Stadium, with the aim of positively impacting Dominican children through baseball and its values.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
