Los Angeles Sparks Announce $150 Million Training Center

Los Angeles Sparks have revealed their plans to build a 55,000-square-foot training facility with a $150 million investment, with its inauguration scheduled for 2027 in El Segundo, California. This initiative represents the largest investment made by a single team in the history of women’s sports.

We are building a place where Sparks players can perform at their best, both on and off the court. Every corner of this facility has been designed with them in mind, from state-of-the-art training and recovery spaces to family and community areas. It reflects our commitment to our team, our fans, and the city of Los Angeles, and sets a new standard for what a professional sports organization can offer its athletes.

The Sparks’ new training center will feature a “player sanctuary” with a pool and rest areas, two regulation basketball courts, a circular locker room, a gym, and training areas. The construction of new training facilities is part of a growing trend in the WNBA. The Sparks’ center reflects a significant investment in the franchise, which seeks to improve the resources available to its players. The team, which has won three WNBA championships and plays its games at Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles, has used several training facilities over the years. The new facility will feature the WNBA’s first indoor-outdoor “player sanctuary,” which will include an outdoor spa pool, rest rooms, and wellness spaces; two regulation courts; a circular locker room; and a state-of-the-art gym and training areas.
