The Dallas Wings were in need of emergency reinforcements to be able to have the necessary players and face the Atlanta Dream last Friday night. Despite the effort, the Wings failed to overcome the Dream, falling with a score of 100-78. To meet the minimum of eight available players, Dallas signed Christyn Williams and extended a seven-day contract to Amy Okonkwo.

We didn’t know if we would have enough players to play tonight.

Maddy Siegrist, Wings player, after the loss.
The Wings were able to sign players under the hardship exception, as they were below the required minimum when a team has two or more players absent due to injury, illness, or other extenuating circumstances.

We are playing with what we have. We have people who are coming and have never played before.

Paige Bueckers, who scored 16 points and dished out 10 assists.
Dallas faces the absence of Luisa Geiselsoder (right shoulder), Ty Harris (left knee), Aziaha James (right ankle), Haley Jones (right knee), Arike Ogunbowale (right knee), JJ Quinerly (left knee), and Li Yueru (left knee). Bueckers, who missed the last game, was able to participate in the match against the Dream.

Our office has been busy. It’s a shame the situation we are living in right now.

Chris Koclanes, Dallas coach.
Dallas stayed close on the scoreboard at the start of the final quarter, before Atlanta scored the first eight points to secure the victory.

We ran out of energy. We had some defensive breakdowns.

Maddy Siegrist.
The Wings (9-31) have not had any player who has participated in all the games this season, and the franchise has accumulated more than 100 games lost by players due to injuries or absences during the season.
