Chicago Sky Cuts Moriah Jefferson

The Chicago Sky have decided to dispense with the services of experienced point guard Moriah Jefferson, after two seasons with the team.

Jefferson, 31 years old, joined the team in a trade last July of the previous season, coming from the Connecticut Sun. In the five games he played this season, with one start, he averaged 1.4 points and 1.8 assists.

Selected at number 2 in the 2016 draft by the San Antonio Stars, Jefferson has averaged 8.3 points and 3.3 assists in 207 games played (144 as a starter) throughout her career, representing six different franchises. In her debut year, she finished second in the voting for Rookie of the Year award.

Before her time in the WNBA, Jefferson won four NCAA championships with UConn between 2013 and 2016, and was named to the first All-America team in 2016.
