Portland Fire Reveals its Uniforms for the Return to the WNBA
The new WNBA franchise, Portland Fire, is preparing for its return in the 2026 season, and it’s doing it with style. On Wednesday morning, the team presented their uniforms for the upcoming season. Inspired by the new Portland logos, the team will wear a Heroine edition for home games. This jersey will be white with the word “FIRE” on the chest in a red font with black numbers, representing Portland’s “passion for the team.” For away games, the Fire will use the Explorer edition, a red jersey stamped with “Portland” on the chest in black with white numbers, celebrating the “Fire’s legacy in Portland.”
Veale added: “Each element was formed with Portland in mind, honoring our legacy, while capturing the spirit and energy of this incredible city we represent. As we prepare for our debut season in May, our athletes and fans will embody that spirit by wearing a Fire jersey.” The return of Portland as the 15th franchise in the league was announced in September 2024. On July 15, it was announced that the team would recover its original name used from 2000 to 2002, before the franchise disappeared. Our 2026 uniforms are an embodiment of this new era for the team: bold, innovative, and resilient.
