Naz Hillmon of the Atlanta Dream Named Sixth Player of the Year in the WNBA

Atlanta Dream forward Naz Hillmon has been awarded the WNBA Sixth Player of the Year award. This achievement marks a milestone for the franchise, as Hillmon becomes the first player in team history to receive this recognition. During the season, Hillmon averaged 8.6 points and 6.2 rebounds, demonstrating her value on the court. In addition, she stood out for her ability to score from the three-point line, achieving 53 three-pointers, a significant increase compared to her first three seasons in the league.

“Naz embodies everything we want the Atlanta Dream to represent: tenacity, consistency, and growth. Her ability to embrace any role and make winning plays has elevated not only her own game, but also our entire team,” commented Dan Padover, general manager of the Dream.

Hillmon, who started in the bank in 27 of the 44 games of the season, set a franchise record by participating in 150 consecutive games, demonstrating his consistency and commitment to the team. The player, a graduate of the University of Michigan, also stood out in the league for her plus-minus, ranking second with +7.6 per game. Her contribution was key for Atlanta to obtain third place and achieve a record of 30 victories in its 17th season. This award adds to the AP’s recognition as Sixth Woman of the Year, obtained earlier this month.
