Man arrested for throwing object onto court at WNBA game
Police in College Park, Georgia, arrested Delbert Carver on Saturday after he allegedly threw a sex object onto the field during last Tuesday’s game between the Golden State Valkyries and the Atlanta Dream at the Gateway Center Arena. This was reported by police sources. Carver, 23, faces charges of disorderly conduct, indecent exposure, and trespassing, according to police records. Records show he was booked into the Clayton County Jail at 7:42 p.m. He was released Sunday night on an undisclosed bond. The next court date for Carver has not yet been set, and the Clayton County judicial system website indicates that the case status is “pending”. The WNBA issued a statement on Saturday confirming the arrest in connection with the incident.The safety and well-being of everyone in our stadiums is a priority for our league. Objects of any kind thrown onto the court or seating area can pose a risk to the safety of players, referees, and fans. In accordance with WNBA safety standards, any fan who intentionally throws an object onto the court will be immediately ejected and will face a minimum one-year ban, in addition to being subject to arrest and prosecution by local authorities.

A second object was thrown onto the court on Friday during the third quarter of the Valkyries’ game against the Chicago Sky. When asked if an arrest had been made or if an incident report had been filed at the Sky-Valkyries game, Chicago police responded via email on Monday that “we do not see a service call for that incident.”
