Caitlin Clark Leads the Odds for WNBA 2025 MVP

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is the favorite to win the WNBA’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in 2025. Paige Bueckers, the first draft pick, leads the betting odds for the Rookie of the Year award.

After a distinguished college career and an impressive debut year, 23-year-old Clark is shaping up as a contender for the league’s top individual award in his second season. Her popularity among bettors has propelled her to the top of the preferences.

Clark is the favorite with a +200 odds to win the MVP, after starting at +300. A’ja Wilson, three-time MVP, has +235 odds, while Napheesa Collier, MVP runner-up in 2024, is at +400.

Clark’s position as the favorite is due, in part, to the large number of bets in her favor. Several betting sites report that at least 50% of the tickets support her candidacy for MVP, and a large amount of money is also betting on her.

“Clark attracts a lot of money regardless of the odds we set. She is not a big underdog, her odds are low, so I don’t think it will hurt us much if she ends up winning,” commented Johnny Avello, director of sports betting at DraftKings.

Avello also acknowledges that the responsibility of the betting house could increase as the season progresses. The growing threat of the Fever as a team is a major concern for those responsible for betting.

Indiana’s improvement, following the acquisition of key players like DeWanna Bonner and Natasha Howard, could also favor Clark in the MVP race.

“A’ja Wilson’s team won many more games than the Fever and Clark, so she got the MVP. I think this year it will be relatively close in the standings, which helps Clark’s candidacy,” said David Lieberman, head of professional basketball at Caesars Sportsbook.

Since 2022, the preseason favorite has won the MVP award each season. Clark would have the second-lowest odds to win, after Wilson had +100 last year.

Bueckers, a first-year player for the Dallas Wings, shows -225 in the odds for Rookie of the Year. Although not as fervent as the support for Clark, Bueckers has received strong backing in several betting houses.

Dominique Malonga, second pick of the Seattle Storm draft, presents odds of +450. Her combination of size, skill, and professional experience make her an interesting option for many bettors.

“He’s a wild card. Obviously, we know what we’re going to get from Bueckers. She’ll score a lot of points, but maybe Malonga will put up absurd numbers in rebounds and blocks, bringing her closer to Bueckers in the Rookie of the Year race than people expected,” Lieberman commented.

Lieberman clarifies that, although Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese made the race competitive in 2024, she believes Clark’s overall performance surpassed it. It remains to be seen how the competition between the two main candidates will unfold in 2025.
