Women’s Basketball Stars Prepare for USA Basketball National Team Camp
The world of women’s basketball is preparing for a transcendental event. Soon, a training camp for the USA Basketball national team will be held at Duke University, from December 12th to 14th. This camp promises to be a meeting point for established talents and young prospects of American basketball.
Among the ten players who will make their debut at the national team camp are prominent names such as Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers, Angel Reese, and JuJu Watkins. The presence of these young stars bodes well for the future of women’s basketball in the United States.
The camp will feature the participation of experienced players and Olympic and World Cup medalists, such as Chelsea Gray, Brittney Griner, Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young, Kahleah Copper, and Dearica Hamby.
In addition, Brionna Jones, a member of the 2022 World Cup team, has also been called up for the camp. Aliyah Boston, the No. 1 WNBA draft pick in 2023, will also be present.
The training camp will serve as an evaluation opportunity for Sue Bird, recently named general manager of the USA Basketball women’s national team, who is tasked with selecting the team for the 2026 FIBA World Cup, where the United States will seek its fifth consecutive gold.
The camp will be led by the new national team head coach, Kara Lawson, currently a coach at Duke, with WNBA coaches Natalie Nakase, Nate Tibbetts, and Stephanie White as court coaches.
