Caitlin Clark Rookie Card Sets Record Price at Auction

A signed rookie card of WNBA star Caitlin Clark fetched a price of $660,000 (including buyer’s premium) at auction on Thursday night, setting a new record for a women’s sports card. The card, a 1-of-1 numbered and autographed card from the 2024 Panini Instant Rookie Royalty WNBA Flawless Platinum Caitlin Clark Logowoman series, was pulled live on the online marketplace Whatnot three weeks ago. Ungraded, but sealed and encapsulated by Panini, it went directly to auction on Fanatics Collect. The previous record for a women’s sports card was $366,000 (including buyer’s premium) for a 2024 Clark Prizm WNBA Signatures Gold Vinyl Prizm card, sold in March. That card was also 1-of-1 and received perfect 10 grades on both the card and autograph from Professional Sports Authenticator.
A signed rookie card of Caitlin Clark reached a record price of $660,000 at auction. Another Clark card, also from Panini’s recent Rookie Royalty WNBA collection, could challenge the new record. A Clark Logowoman card, numbered 1-of-1 and autographed, is currently at $219,600 (with buyer’s premium) on Goldin Auctions and will enter an extended bidding on August 9. While Clark’s WNBA Rookie Royalty cards feature on-card autographs, Clark’s $366,000 Prizm card is a sticker autograph; with inscriptions, Logowoman patches are not game-worn or player-worn. Clark hasn’t played since July 15 due to a right groin injury. On Thursday, the Indiana Fever reported that there is no timetable for her return.
