Caitlin Clark Rookie Card Reaches Record Price at Auction
A signed rookie card of Caitlin Clark sold for $660,000 (including the buyer’s premium) at auction on Thursday night, nearly doubling the previous record for a female athlete card.
Caitlin Clark’s Logowoman card, numbered 1 of 1 and autographed, from the 2024 Panini Instant Rookie Royalty WNBA Flawless Platinum series, was pulled live on the online marketplace Whatnot three weeks ago. Ungraded, but sealed and encapsulated by Panini, it went directly to auction on Fanatics Collect.
The previous record for a female sports card was $366,000 (including buyer’s premium) for the 2024 Clark Prizm WNBA Signatures Gold Vinyl Prizm card, which sold in March. That card was also numbered 1 of 1 and received perfect grades of 10 on both the card and autograph from Professional Sports Authenticator.A signed rookie card of Caitlin Clark reached a record price in a women’s sports auction for $660,000.
Another Clark card, also from Panini’s recent Rookie Royalty WNBA series, could challenge the new record set. A Clark Logowoman card, numbered 1 of 1 and autographed, is currently at $219,600 (with buyer’s premium) on Goldin Auctions and is scheduled to enter an extended bidding on August 9.
While Clark’s WNBA Rookie Royalty cards feature on-card autographs, Clark’s $366,000 Prizm card is a sticker autograph, with inscriptions, Logowoman patches are not game-worn or by the player.
Clark hasn’t played since July 15 due to a right groin injury. On Thursday, the Indiana Fever announced that there is no timetable for her return.
