A’ja Wilson in Concussion Protocol, Out for Game Against the Wings
Las Vegas Aces, the WNBA’s star team, announced this Friday that their key player, A’ja Wilson, has been placed in concussion protocol. This situation will keep her out of the team’s next game against the Dallas Wings.
Wilson, three-time WNBA MVP, suffered the injury during Wednesday’s game, where the Aces fell 97-89 to the Los Angeles Sparks.
The incident occurred when Wilson was trying to defend a play near the hoop. He received a blow to the face during an offensive play by Dearica Hamby of the Sparks.
Wilson retired from the game with 1:17 remaining in the third quarter. He immediately covered his nose with a towel and did not return to the game.
So far this season, Wilson has averaged 20.9 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists.
