Stefanos Tsitsipas has announced the return of his father, Apostolos, as coach, marking the end of his short collaboration with Goran Ivanisevic. Tsitsipas, 26 years old, ended his association with Ivanisevic, who previously collaborated with Novak Djokovic, achieving nine of his 24 Grand Slam titles, less than two months ago. The Greek tennis player, runner-up at the French Open in 2021 and the Australian Open in 2023, has experienced a drop in the rankings, placing him at 30th in the world. Furthermore, he has failed to get past the second round in the first three Grand Slams of the season.
Following Tsitsipas’ elimination in the first round of Wimbledon, Ivanisevic expressed harsh criticism of the player’s performance. The victory in Dubai in February is the only title he has won in 2025.I have never seen a player so unprepared.

The tennis player shared on social media:Tsitsipas lost to Christopher O’Connell in the second round of the Canadian Open on Wednesday. Some journeys have the ability to return to the starting point. After some time apart, I have reunited with the person who first believed in me, my father. I am grateful to share the court and the road ahead with him once more. We have lived every chapter of this journey together, and this next one feels right. Sometimes, going home is the boldest step forward.
