Jannik Sinner Shows Dominance in Cincinnati

Jannik Sinner extended his winning streak on hard courts to 25 matches this Thursday, after a convincing victory over Felix Auger-Aliassime in the quarterfinals of the Cincinnati Open. In his first tournament since winning his fourth Grand Slam title at Wimbledon, Sinner, the world’s top-ranked player and defending champion, achieved a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Auger-Aliassime. Auger-Aliassime had won his previous two matches against Sinner, but offered little resistance on Thursday, with Sinner starting and finishing the match with streaks of six consecutive games. Sinner has not been defeated on his favorite surface since a defeat against Carlos Alcaraz in Beijing at the beginning of October last year.
