The tennis world is gearing up for an event that promises excitement and large sums of money: the Six Kings Slam, which kicks off this Wednesday in Saudi Arabia.
A tournament with millionaire incentives
The exhibition, which has sparked debate among fans, offers players unprecedented economic motivation. Taylor Fritz, one of the participants, does not hesitate to point out the attractive reward: “I would love for them to show me a tournament where you can play three matches, or two for the top two seeds, and potentially win 6 million dollars.” The tournament features six elite tennis players, including Jannik Sinner, who returns after winning the top prize in the previous edition. Each player is guaranteed an appearance fee of $1.5 million, and the winner takes a bonus that raises their total to four times that amount. The matches will be broadcast live on Netflix. Sinner, who has had a successful year, assures he has recovered from some physical discomfort and is ready to compete: “Mentally I am in good shape and I will give 100%.”Money is something we don’t try to hide. We know how much is at stake here, and it would be a lie if I told you it wasn’t a motivation.
