Aryna Sabalenka Extends Her Dominance in Wuhan and Advances to Semifinals

Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka continues her winning streak in Wuhan, China, after defeating Elena Rybakina in the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 tournament.

Sabalenka, the current US Open champion and world number one, achieved a solid victory with scores of 6-3 and 6-3 over Rybakina, the eighth seed, extending her winning streak in Wuhan to 20 matches.

The tennis player, who already won the Wuhan Open title in 2018, 2019 and last year, once again demonstrated her dominance in the Chinese city.

In a match that lasted 1 hour and 25 minutes, Sabalenka broke Rybakina’s serve on three occasions, securing her place in the semifinals for the eleventh time this season.

Coco Gauff also comfortably advanced to the semifinals, achieving a victory with a score of 6-3 and 6-0 over Laura Siegemund.

Gauff will seek to reach the final after her participation in the China Open last week.

Sabalenka will face Jessica Pegula in the semifinals, who previously defeated Katerina Siniakova in a match that went to three sets.
