Rybakina Conquers Ningbo Open and Secures Tenth WTA Title

NINGBO, China – Elena Rybakina showcased her power by coming back from a set down to defeat Ekaterina Alexandrova in the Ningbo Open final. The final score was 3-6, 6-0, 6-2, which earned Rybakina her tenth WTA title. The tennis player, seeded number three, had a hesitant start, losing the first set 6-3. However, in the following sets, Rybakina displayed her best tennis, dominating her rival, who was seeded as number four. The Kazakh player strung together nine consecutive games and connected 11 aces, thus sealing her victory.

“Thank you very much to my team for always pushing me to be better. Especially at the end of the season, it’s not easy, but without you I wouldn’t be here,” declared Rybakina.

This triumph represents Rybakina’s second title of the season. The outstanding performance of the Kazakh player at the end of the season keeps her in the running for a place in the WTA Finals, which will be held in Riyadh in November. For Alexandrova, this defeat signifies her third consecutive fall in a WTA 500 final. Rybakina also expressed her congratulations to Alexandrova for her outstanding week and season.
