NINGBO, China – Elena Rybakina showcased her power by coming back from a set down to defeat Ekaterina Alexandrova in the Ningbo Open final. The final score was 3-6, 6-0, 6-2, thus securing her tenth WTA title. Rybakina, seeded number three, had a shaky start, allowing her Russian rival to take a 4-1 lead in the first set. However, the Kazakhstani tennis player reacted strongly in the second set, dominating her opponent, seeded number four, and winning nine consecutive games. In addition, she connected 11 aces during the match.

Thank you so much to my team for always pushing me to be better. Especially at the end of the season, it’s not easy, but without you I wouldn’t be here.

This triumph represents Rybakina’s second title so far this year. Rybakina’s performance in this final stage of the season keeps her in the running for a place in the WTA Finals to be held in Riyadh in November. For Alexandrova, this defeat marks her third lost final in a WTA 500 tournament.

I would like to congratulate Ekaterina on a great week and a great season so far.
