Lleyton Hewitt and his son Cruz fall in the quarterfinals in their return to tennis
Tennis legend Lleyton Hewitt, a two-time Grand Slam champion, along with his son Cruz, failed to advance in the doubles tournament of the New South Wales Open, falling in the quarterfinals. Hewitt, who retired from singles tennis in 2016, made his return to the courts by partnering with his 16-year-old son. In their first match, the duo Hewitt showed their potential by defeating Hayden Jones and Pavle Marinkov with a resounding 6-1 and 6-0.However, in the quarterfinals, they faced Dane Sweeny and Calum Puttergill, who won with scores of 7-5 and 6-4.
Lleyton Hewitt, known for his victories at the US Open 2001 and Wimbledon 2002, is currently the captain of the Australian Davis Cup team. Cruz Hewitt is one of the three children Lleyton has with his wife, actress Bec Hewitt.
