Lleyton Hewitt and his son Cruz fall in the quarterfinals at the New South Wales Challenger
Lleyton Hewitt, a two-time Grand Slam champion, and his son Cruz’s return to professional competition in doubles at the New South Wales Challenger tournament came to an end in the quarterfinals.
Hewitt, who retired from singles tennis in 2016, teamed up with his 16-year-old son, Cruz, to compete in the tournament.
In their first match, the duo Hewitt defeated Hayden Jones and Pavle Marinkov with a resounding 6-1, 6-0.
However, in the quarterfinals, father and son fell to Dane Sweeny and Calum Puttergill with a score of 7-5, 6-4.
Lleyton Hewitt currently serves as the captain of the Australian Davis Cup team.
Cruz Hewitt is one of the three children Lleyton has with his wife, actress Bec Hewitt.
