Lleyton Hewitt and his son Cruz fall in the quarterfinals at the Sydney Challenger
The return of Lleyton Hewitt, two-time Grand Slam champion, to the tennis courts alongside his son Cruz, in the doubles modality of the Sydney Challenger tournament, came to an end in the quarterfinals.
Hewitt, who was world number 1 and retired from individual tennis in 2016, teamed up with his 16-year-old son, Cruz, to compete in the tournament.
In their first match, the Hewitt duo defeated Hayden Jones and Pavle Marinkov with a resounding 6-1 and 6-0.
However, in the quarterfinals, father and son fell to Dane Sweeny and Calum Puttergill with a score of 7-5 and 6-4.
Lleyton Hewitt currently serves as the captain of the Australian Davis Cup team. Cruz Hewitt is one of the three children Lleyton has with his wife, actress Bec Hewitt.
