Caroline Garcia Announces Retirement from Professional Tennis
French tennis player Caroline Garcia, with a distinguished past on the professional circuit, has announced her decision to retire from tennis.
Garcia, who reached the US Open semi-finals and achieved the number 4 position in the world ranking, announced his retirement through social media while preparing for his fourteenth consecutive participation in the French Open.
After 15 years competing at the highest level, and more than 25 years dedicating almost every second of my life to this sport, I feel that I am ready to turn the page and open a new chapter.

Despite this announcement, Garcia confirmed that she still has some tournaments to play, starting with Roland-Garros, where she will play her first match against Bernarda Pera.
The 31-year-old tennis player reached her best ranking position in September 2018. After a period of ups and downs and physical problems, including a break in March 2022 due to a foot injury, Garcia experienced a resurgence in the second half of that season, achieving several titles and an outstanding performance at the US Open.
Two years ago, in an interview, Garcia revealed that he had struggled with bulimia, triggered by defeats and the pain of the foot injury that affected his daily life.
My path has not always been easy. From the beginning, tennis has meant much more than victories and defeats. It was love or hate. Joy or frustration. And despite everything, I am deeply grateful for everything this adventure has given me. For everything tennis has given me. For the strong, passionate, and determined woman it helped me become. But now, it’s time to move on. My body, and my personal aspirations, tell me so.
