An unusual incident during the US Open has captured the attention of tennis fans and social media. Piotr Szczerek, a man present at the tournament, publicly apologized after a video showed him removing the cap of tennis player Kamil Majchrzak from a young fan. The incident, which occurred over the weekend, quickly went viral. The images showed Szczerek snatching the cap of Polish player Majchrzak, after his match against Karen Khachanov. Szczerek, also from Poland, explained in a Facebook post that he acted due to a misunderstanding. According to his account, he believed that Majchrzak was giving the cap to his children, who had previously requested an autograph from the tennis player.

I made a mistake thinking Majchrzak was giving me the cap.
