Cash and Glasspool Conquer Wimbledon: First Grand Slam for the British Duo
The fifth seeds, Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool, capped a dream summer with the Wimbledon title, their first Grand Slam as a pair. The British duo defeated Rinky Hijikata and David Pel with a score of 6-2 and 7-6 (3) in the men’s doubles final on Saturday.
Cash and Glasspool, champions at Queen’s Club and Eastbourne, made history by becoming the first all-British pair to win the All England Club trophy since 1936.
On that occasion, Pat Hughes and Raymond Tuckey defeated their compatriots Charles Hare and Frank Wilde in the final.
