Surprise at Roland Garros, Disappointment at Wimbledon: Lois Boisson Falls in the Rankings

Tennis player Lois Boisson, who surprised everyone by reaching the semi-finals of the French Open, has suffered an unexpected defeat in the first qualifying round for Wimbledon.

Boisson, 22 years old, was defeated by the Canadian Carson Branstine, ranked 197th in the ranking, with a score of 6-2, 6-7 (1), 6-4. This match, played on the grass court of Roehampton, was a rare appearance of the French player on this surface.

Following his outstanding participation in Roland Garros, where he reached his debut in the main draw of a Grand Slam, Boisson experienced a notable rise in the world ranking, moving from position 361 to 65.

The French tennis player, who was the top seed in the Wimbledon qualifying phase, failed to obtain a wildcard for the main draw, which generated criticism in France towards the tournament organizers.

At the French Open, Boisson achieved notable victories against Top 10 players like Jessica Pegula and Mirra Andreeva, before falling to the eventual champion, Coco Gauff.

The main Wimbledon draw will begin next Monday.
