Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner Pay Tribute to Stacey Allaster

In an emotional ceremony following the US Open final, both Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner expressed their gratitude to Stacey Allaster, who concluded her time as tournament director. Allaster, the first woman to hold this position, announced at the end of last year her transition to an advisory role within the United States Tennis Association (USTA), to focus on other personal projects. Alcaraz, after defeating Sinner in the final, and Sinner himself, in their respective presentations, paid tribute to Allaster’s work. Allaster joined the USTA in 2016 and took over as US Open director in 2020. Previously, she served as president and CEO of the WTA, where she played a key role in the growth of women’s tennis and in the fight for equal prize money in tournaments such as Roland Garros and Wimbledon, following the example of the US Open. Allaster will collaborate in the search for the new tournament director.
