Liverpool continues to struggle in the Women’s Super League (WSL), suffering another defeat this Sunday. The team, now managed by Gareth Taylor, has not managed to score points in its first matches. This time, they lost 1-0 to the newly promoted London City Lionesses. The match seemed headed for a draw until Nikita Parris, after a foul inside the area, caused a penalty that Elena Linari converted into a goal in the 89th minute, giving the victory to the Lionesses.

Tottenham Hotspur Rises

Tottenham Hotspur managed to climb to third place thanks to another goal by Cathinka Tandberg, who has been key in the team’s good start to the season. Tandberg scored after an assist from Jessica Naz, securing the 1-0 victory against Brighton. This result allows Tottenham to add 12 points and accumulate four victories, just one short of equaling their total for the 2024-25 season.
The Aston Villa achieved their first victory of the season, beating West Ham 2-0, with goals from Kirsty Hanson and Lynn Wilms. Hanson opened the scoring with a great shot, followed by a free kick goal by Wilms. This defeat keeps West Ham in last place in the table, adding their fifth consecutive defeat. Noémie Mouchon tied the match for Leicester against Everton in the 81st minute. Ornella Vignola had put Everton ahead in the score with a goal in the 51st minute.
