With the backing of famous owners and a squad packed with talent with a Premier League past, Wrexham arrives with the momentum of three consecutive promotions. All this positions them to face their life in the Championship in the 2025-26 season with determination. Since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over, the Welsh club has climbed three divisions in just four years, going from the National League to the doors of the Premier League. The “Red Dragons” are about to begin their first season in the English second division since 1981-82. For this special occasion, they have presented a new set of retro-style uniforms, with details that evoke the 1980s. Recently, the club launched its new home shirt, which features the club crest centered, a nod to the shirt worn by figures such as Joey Jones, Dixie McNeil and Gareth Davies over 40 years ago. On Tuesday, fans got their first look at the away kit for the 2025-26 season in action, as the team managed by coach Phil Parkinson faced Sydney FC of the A-League in the second match of their pre-season tour of Australia and New Zealand.

The new Wrexham away kit is inspired by the daffodil, the flower that symbolizes the pride and optimism of Wales. The uniform is inspired by Wales, specifically the daffodil, a national symbol of pride and optimism. Like the spring flower, the uniform is bright yellow and green, an alternative color palette that Wrexham first adopted in the late 1980s and has used regularly since then. Completing the design, an elegant polo collar, fine stripes and the words “Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau/Land of My Fathers” (the name of the Welsh national anthem) applied in both Welsh and English on the inside of the collar. Wrexham won the first match of the tour against Melbourne Victory 3-0, but couldn’t achieve a second victory in Australia, as they fell 2-1 to Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium. They will soon travel to New Zealand to face Wellington Phoenix on Saturday.
