Bologna Suffers Home Defeat to Cremonese, Vardy Stars with Brace

In an unexpected turn of events, Bologna FC, after a streak of 12 matches without knowing defeat, fell to Cremonese with a score of 3-1 in their own stadium. The match, played on Monday, saw Jamie Vardy, Cremonese’s forward, stand out with a brace, scoring his first goals in Serie A.

The match presented a notable contrast: an undefeated Bologna received a Cremonese that arrived after three consecutive defeats.

Cremonese took the lead at the half-hour mark. A precise pass from Matteo Bianchetti left Martín Payero in front of the goal, who scored with confidence, making it 1-0.

Four minutes later, Vardy extended the lead to 2-0, repeating the play of the first goal. A pass from Federico Bonazzoli left him alone against the defense, and Vardy did not forgive.

Riccardo Orsolini scored for Bologna from the penalty spot before halftime, but Vardy, a summer signing, scored again for Cremonese at the start of the second half, sealing the 3-1.

This victory represented a respite for Vardy, who was recently the victim of a robbery at his residence.

The result was also crucial for Cremonese, which moved up two positions in the table, placing 11th. On the other hand, Bologna dropped to sixth place, surpassed by Como on goal difference.

It was the first time this season that Vincenzo Italiano’s team conceded three goals in a single match.
