Tottenham Imposes its Dominance: 2-0 Victory Over Manchester City

Tottenham players João Palhinha and Brennan Johnson expressed their admiration for coach Thomas Frank after a remarkable 2-0 victory over Manchester City. The match demonstrated the team’s strength under Frank’s direction. Frank, who took over the position this summer, has had a promising start in North London. The team has achieved two consecutive victories without conceding goals, including a previous 3-0 triumph against Burnley. Tottenham went 2-0 ahead before halftime, with Johnson scoring after a pass from Richarlison and Palhinha capitalizing on a mistake by goalkeeper James Trafford.

Johnson, who scored the winning goal in the Europa League final last May, has started the season impressively, with a goal in each of the two Premier League matches. When asked about the differences between former coach Ange Postecoglou and Frank, Johnson commented: “They are two different coaches. I really enjoy it and a lot of attention is paid to set pieces, but at the same time it gives us a lot of freedom in attack. In the first few games we have kept two clean sheets and against Man City it is not easy. I have played here many times and I have conceded many goals.” Tottenham, who currently leads the Premier League table, has proven to be a well-organized and disciplined team, making it difficult for City to play.

Palhinha, who joined the team on loan for a season from Bayern Munich, highlighted Frank’s influence on his decision to return to the Premier League.

First, the coach who pushed me to come here and showed me the project he has here at Tottenham. It’s such a big club, and I’m very happy to be back in the Premier League.
