Sesko will miss the match against Everton, but his return is expected soon
Manchester United forward Benjamin Sesko will not be available for the Premier League match against Everton next Monday. This has been confirmed by sources close to the club to Alofoke Deportes. However, the player is expected to recover from his injury before the busy December schedule begins.
Sesko suffered a knee injury during the 2-2 draw against Tottenham before the international break. Because of this, he was withdrawn from the Slovenia national team camp to receive treatment at Carrington, under the supervision of the United medical team.
Initial explorations ruled out a serious injury. Although subsequent evaluations indicated that Sesko will be out of the fields for a few weeks, there is hope that his absence will be limited and he can return in December.
The former RB Leipzig player will miss the match against Everton at Old Trafford this Monday.
United have one more match in November, against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on November 30, before playing six matches in December.Ruben Amorim’s team will face West Ham, Wolves, Bournemouth, Aston Villa, Newcastle and again Wolves before the end of the year.
Sesko has scored two goals in 12 appearances since his arrival in the summer from Germany.
His absence will likely mean that Bryan Mbeumo continues to be the focal point of Amorim’s attack.
The Cameroonian international has scored six goals in 12 matches since his signing in the summer from Brentford.
Sesko’s injury could affect Joshua Zirkzee’s future.
The Dutch player is open to exploring the possibility of leaving Old Trafford in January to get more minutes and increase his chances of being part of the Netherlands national team for next summer’s World Cup.
Sources have revealed that Roma is one of the clubs interested in the 24-year-old player.
However, with doubts about Sesko’s physical condition, it is not clear if Amorim is willing to let his only other recognized center forward leave mid-season.
United also expects interest in midfielder Kobbie Mainoo when the transfer market opens on January 1st. The English international, also eager to have more minutes before the World Cup, is wanted by Napoli.
