Semenyo Could Bid Farewell to Bournemouth Against Tottenham

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has expressed his acceptance of Antoine Semenyo’s possible departure from the club. The player could play his last match with the team on Wednesday night against Tottenham. Manchester City are close to finalizing the signing of Semenyo, after indicating that they will activate the release clause of 65 million pounds sterling (88 million dollars) included in his contract. Sources close to the player, who turns 26 on Wednesday, indicated that Semenyo is expected to undergo a medical with City on Thursday or Friday, after Bournemouth’s match against Tottenham.

  • All confirmed January transfers from the Premier League for each club

Despite Iraola’s insistence that nothing has yet been agreed upon regarding the future of the Ghanaian international, who has had an outstanding season so far, the Bournemouth coach remains realistic.

“Antoine will play tomorrow, yes. I can give my opinion, from my experience, but there is nothing signed with Antoine Semenyo,” Iraola declared in a press conference.

“If you ask me personally, ‘What do you think?’ With all the noise, I think it could be the last game, but I can’t guarantee it. I understand the market, I understand the noise, but right now there’s nothing agreed, nothing signed, so for me he’s our player and I hope he continues. But I also understand, because I’ve been in the transfer market before with this club and with others, that there is a possibility that it will also be his last game, yes.” Bournemouth confirmed that forward Justin Kluivert will undergo surgery on his left knee after getting injured during the defeat against Arsenal on Saturday and will face a period of rehabilitation.
