The Lionesses’ celebration after their triumph in the 2025 European Championship brought together thousands of fans in the streets of London. A memorable moment, especially for coach Sarina Wiegman, who enjoyed a surprise performance by her favorite artist, Burna Boy.
The parade of the England players, aboard a convertible bus, went through The Mall in central London, with an enthusiastic crowd on both sides. The celebration ceremony took place in front of Buckingham Palace and was hosted by former footballer Alex Scott.
Leah Williamson, visibly excited, addressed the crowd, calling the event “one of the best experiences” they have lived. Then, the microphone passed to Wiegman, who has conquered three consecutive European Championships.
Wiegman, known for her admiration for Burna Boy, reacted with surprise when Scott announced the performance of the Grammy-winning Nigerian artist.
Burna Boy went on stage and hugged a surprised Wiegman, before performing his song “For my hand”.
Wiegman, usually serene, got carried away by the emotion and danced on stage with Burna Boy, while the players immortalized the moment.
The day also featured a performance by Heather Small, who performed her song “Proud”, a significant theme for the England team during the tournament.
