Mohamed Salah, Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been awarded the Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers’ Association (FWA).
Salah has had an outstanding individual season, accumulating 33 goals and 23 assists in all competitions, and playing a crucial role in Liverpool’s Premier League victory.

The Egyptian international has been a starter in all league matches for Arne Slot’s team this season and recently put an end to months of speculation about his future by signing a two-year contract extension at Anfield.
This is the third time Salah has won the award, which is voted for by hundreds of journalists in England, having previously been crowned Player of the Year in 2017-18 and 2021-22.
The 32-year-old player surpassed the competition from his teammates Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch, as well as players like Declan Rice from Arsenal and Alexander Isak from Newcastle United, to win this year’s award.
