Federico Redondo close to signing for Elche

Midfielder Federico Redondo is close to joining Elche from LaLiga, according to sources. The transfer will be permanent from Inter Miami. Currently, the player is in Spain to finalize the details of his signing. Redondo arrived at Inter Miami before the 2024 season, coming from Argentinos Juniors. He initially signed a contract until the 2027 MLS season, with a club option for 2028.
Federico Redondo is ready to leave Inter Miami after 18 months in South Florida. During his time at the club, Redondo scored two goals and provided four assists in 60 appearances across all competitions, alternating between starter and substitute under coach Javier Mascherano. He was a teammate of Sergio Busquets in midfield. The 22-year-old player was part of the Inter Miami team in 2024, which won the MLS Supporters’ Shield and set a single-season points record. Born in Spain and son of former Real Madrid and Argentina national team footballer, Fernando Redondo, Federico Redondo represented Argentina in the Olympic Games, the 2024 CONMEBOL pre-Olympic tournament and played with the under-20 national team.
