PSG Secures Lucas Chevalier: Donnarumma in Search of New Destination

Paris Saint-Germain has finalized the signing of Lucas Chevalier, goalkeeper from Lille, through a five-year contract. The operation is valued at 40 million euros, with the possibility of adding 15 million euros in bonuses, according to sources close to the club.

Official confirmation is expected in the coming hours, but Chevalier, 23, has already passed the medical exams in Paris and is set to become the team’s new starting goalkeeper. This acquisition puts Gianluigi Donnarumma in search of a new club for next season.

PSG does not intend to keep the Italian international in its ranks, following the arrival of Chevalier. It is anticipated that Chelsea, Manchester United or Inter Milan will present offers for Donnarumma, who have already contacted Enzo Raiola, the player’s agent.

Donnarumma, 26 years old, was looking to extend his contract with the club, but negotiations did not come to fruition. The goalkeeper, one of the highest paid in the squad with a monthly salary of 850,000 euros, requested a salary increase that was not accepted, due to the new salary structure implemented by sporting director Luis Campos.

Donnarumma was a key player for PSG last season, standing out with important interventions in crucial matches. However, coach Luis Enrique prefers a goalkeeper with better footwork and greater distribution ability, qualities attributed to Chevalier.
