Luis Enrique: “I have the best team in the world”
Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique praised his team after reaching the Champions League semi-finals, after defeating Aston Villa with an aggregate score of 5-4.
The French team, seeking its first title in the European competition, will face Arsenal or Real Madrid in the semi-finals.
Under the direction of the Spanish coach, PSG has renewed its squad, replacing figures like Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappé with young talents, a strategy that seems to be yielding results.
The club, owned by Qatar and already champion of Ligue 1, reached the quarter-finals for the third time in five years, despite losing 3-2 to Aston Villa in the second leg.
The match could have ended in a 5-5 draw or even a victory if goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma had not made several crucial saves in the second half.
I think I have the best team in the world, not just the goalkeeper. When you are at a club like PSG, you have many quality players. I think we deserved to win in both matches. I am very happy because I can offer our fans another qualification to the semi-final.

Achraf Hakimi was one of PSG’s goalscorers on Tuesday, along with Nuno Mendes. The Moroccan international stated: “We are on our way to becoming a great team”, after eliminating Liverpool in the knockout phase.
I think we are very confident right now. We are in the semi-finals again and we want to show that PSG is a great team, a great club and we want to fight for all the titles we can.

The PSG coach acknowledged Villa’s quality and intensity, who managed to score three goals after being down 2-0, putting the aggregate score at 5-1.
Luis Enrique commented: “We started the match in a great way, scoring two incredible goals, trying to take advantage of the spaces. We cannot forget that this is the Champions League and we have to accept that the opposing team has a lot of quality. Aston Villa played with a lot of intensity in the second half.”
