In a touching tribute, footballer Diogo Jota and his brother were remembered before a pre-season friendly match between Porto and Atlético de Madrid.

The gathering, which took place on Sunday, served as a stage to honor the memory of Jota and André Silva, who tragically passed away in a car accident on July 3rd in Spain.

Jota, a prominent figure for Liverpool, defended the colors of Porto and Atlético in the past.

The Estadio do Dragao, in the city of Porto, witnessed a moving moment of silence. Players from both teams joined in the center of the field, while the fans present broke into applause.

A commemorative video was shown, paying tribute to Jota, international with Portugal, and his brother, who was also part of the Portuguese club.

The fans applauded again in the 20th minute of the match. Liverpool has announced that they will retire the number 20 shirt in honor of Jota.
