Mbappé Misses Match Due to Injury

The captain of the French national team, Kylian Mbappé, will not participate in the World Cup qualifying match against Iceland on Monday due to a right ankle injury, according to the French Football Federation (FFF) on Saturday. The Real Madrid star scored in France’s 3-0 victory over Azerbaijan on Friday, but had to leave the field in the 83rd minute. Before the international break, Mbappé had injured the same ankle playing against Villarreal. France confirmed that its star striker would not travel to Reykjavik and that, instead, he would return to Madrid.
