Liverpool Football Club is deeply shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of former LFC Women’s manager, Matt Beard. The statement also highlights Beard’s impact, both on and off the field, recalling his commitment, success, and human warmth. Beard managed Liverpool between 2012 and 2015, achieving victories in the Women’s Super League (WSL) in 2013 and 2014. Subsequently, he returned to the club between 2021 and 2025, achieving promotion to the WSL in 2021. In addition to his time at Liverpool, Beard left his mark on other clubs, including Chelsea (2009-12), West Ham (2018-20), Millwall (2008-09), Bristol City (2012, interim) and Burnley. She also had an overseas experience with the Boston Breakers before returning to England.
