Ruben Amorim Has the Support of the Manchester United Board
Despite the recent defeat against Tottenham in the Europa League final, Ruben Amorim maintains the support of the Manchester United board and is expected to remain in charge of the team next season.
Amorim’s team suffered a 1-0 defeat against Tottenham in Bilbao on Wednesday. This result not only prevented the Portuguese coach from obtaining a title in his first season, but also means that United will not play in Europe next season, something that has only happened for the second time in the last 35 years.
However, sources close to the club claim that Amorim’s continuity never depended on the result at the San Mamés Stadium.
The United board remains convinced that the 40-year-old coach is the right person for the job, despite a series of negative results in the Premier League, including 14 defeats in 26 matches since his appointment in November.

Plans are already being prepared to reinforce the squad during the summer.
Not qualifying for the Champions League could affect the club’s flexibility in the transfer market, something that Amorim hinted at in his press conference after the match against Tottenham.
We have two plans for the market and we must understand that it is difficult for a club like ours not to be in the Champions League. But we must use the other side. We have more time to work during the week in the Premier League and that will be our focus.

After the final whistle in Bilbao, Amorim stated that he would leave Old Trafford without compensation if the board decided to change the coach.
Fans are expected to show their support for the former Sporting CP coach in the last match of the season against Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Sunday.
