Liverpool close to signing Hugo Ekitike

Liverpool is on the verge of finalizing the transfer of Hugo Ekitike, after reaching an agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt for a sum that could reach 79 million pounds sterling (approximately 91 million dollars). The agreement includes an initial fee of £69 million, with an additional £10 million in potential add-ons. Ekitike has already agreed to the terms of a six-year contract and will soon undergo a medical examination. Ekitike has shown great interest in joining Liverpool, despite having been linked with Newcastle United and Manchester United.
Hugo Ekitike will join Liverpool in a transfer valued at up to £79 million. The player has already spoken with Liverpool’s coach, Arne Slot, who detailed his vision for him as a center forward in the team. The transfer comes after Ekitike scored 15 goals in 33 games for Frankfurt in the Bundesliga last season. Ekitike joined Frankfurt in February 2024, coming from Paris Saint-Germain, a club that will receive 20% (£13.8 million) of his transfer fee this summer. Although he has not yet debuted with the French national team, a source has indicated that the player believes that signing for Liverpool and playing in the Premier League could help him be called up to the national team before the 2026 World Cup.
