Amorim Confirms Key Absences for Clash against Crystal Palace

Coach Ruben Amorim will not be able to count on Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko and Harry Maguire for Manchester United’s next match against Crystal Palace this Sunday. The team seeks to recover after the defeat suffered against Everton. Cunha withdrew from the team at the last moment for the match against Everton due to a head injury sustained during training. He is expected to miss the match at Selhurst Park, but could be available for the match against West Ham next week. Sesko and Maguire will be out of the game for a longer period.

“I hope to have Matheus in the next match, not this one. Sesko will take a little longer. Harry, the same,” Amorim stated in a press conference on Friday.

When asked if Sesko has suffered a setback in his recovery from a knee injury, Amorim replied: “No. It’s going to take a little longer. We are taking care of the injury.” United face Palace after winning only one away game in the Premier League this season. The Amorim team put themselves in good positions in away games against Nottingham Forest and Tottenham before needing late goals to salvage draws.

Apart from the 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Anfield in October, United’s last away win in the league was against Leicester City in March.

“It’s difficult to pinpoint a single thing as to why we’re not winning away from home. There are many problems. I think if I look at the matches, we should have more points. Because we were in control of some matches, we had the advantage in some matches and lost that control. So, if I look at our matches, we should have more points. And that’s really disappointing and really frustrating, especially the last match [against Everton],” said Amorim.
